Scotland 2007 - Update #1

Hi everyone

Here are some details for Scotland 2007.  This is all the info we have.  To register please drop me an email at newsletters@kenshikan-england.co.uk and I'll send you a form.

1. Gashyuku Training Times:

We are waiting for more information but for now assume as per previous years. i.e.

  • Friday Night –Seniors and ALL Black Belts
  • Saturday AM – Juniors
  • Saturday PM – Seniors
  • Sunday AM – Juniors
  • Sunday PM – Seniors and Examinations (Black Belts only)

2. Travel to Scotland:

Everyone to organise their own travel to Glasgow and to the venue for training days. Organisers in Scotland will arrange transport from the hotels for the Saturday Night Party / get-togethers.

3. Accommodation:

Rooms require a credit card to hold a room and prices are PER ROOM.

** NOTE: It is recommended that after booking you ring and PAY IN FULL 3-5 days before you get there.  Believe it or not, the credit card does not actually guarantee the booking.  These hotels have been known to overbook and if they have allocated your room then it is gone and you will have to find another hotel

These hotels are about 10-15 mins walk to the Training Venue and the first three are the closest.

Book your own hotel from the following list:

  • Premier Travel Inn 187 George Street, Glasgow 0870 238 3320
  • Holiday Inn Express on West Nile Street 0141 331 6800
  • Holiday Inn Theartreland, West Nile Street 0141 352 830031
  • Premier Travel Inn Elmbank Gardens 0870 9906312
  • Premier Lodge Elmbank Gardens 0870 7001394 (same  as above)

If folk are travelling by car the following hotel is just 2 miles outside of Glasgow, in a good part of the city.  You would have to find your own way to the venue.

Jurys Glasgow Hotel (Pond Hotel) Great Western Road 0141 334 8161.

4. What you need to do:

  • Fill in the form (remember to email me and I'll send you one)and hand it back to Shihandai, Michelle or Dan by the end of Feb
  • Book your room (would be great if you did that before end of Feb)
  • Advise us where you will be staying on the form or if booked later via e-mail to: newsletter@kenshikan-england.co.uk

NB: If you are a black belt and NOT coming, please fill in the form and hand it back to Shihandai, Michelle or Dan by the end of Feb.  It helps us ensure we know all Black Belts at least know about the Gassyuku

Thanks
